What is Perfectmoney?

Perfectmoney is an online eBank/Payment Processor, where people can receive and send payments. They cover a number of currencies, and they have many withdrawal methods. They’re also crypto-friendly, which is nice.

They’ve been around for many years, having a clean record, which makes them a legitimate online bank with a proven track record.

We’ve written a detailed review of Perfectmoney in the past. Check it out here: Perfectmoney payment processor review and information

What about the .com and .is?

When I started using Perfectmoney a few years ago, I was alarmed to see that the website was Perfectmoney.is, and not Perfectmoney.com.

I found this weird because all legitimate websites are on a .com domain. But after some research I confirmed that their website is actually a .is domain. I still don’t know the reason for this, but if you tried to visit their website ending in .com back then, you would see what I shared in the screenshot in the opening of this article.

One of my theories was that perhaps, due to Perfectmoney not being available to US citizens, is perhaps that they didn’t want to comply with US banking regulations, and for that reason they couldn’t or didn’t care to use the .com version of their website, so they just used their .is (Iceland) version. I’m probably wrong on this, but there you go.

Fast forward to September 2023, and the .com version of their site works too. Now you can visit either the .com or the .is, and use it normally. However, the .is website will redirect to the .com version, but it’s all the same.

Conclusion

In conclusion, Perfectmoney is a legitimate online payment processor with a long track record. If you ever visit their website, and you land on the .is version, don’t be alarmed, none of them is a phishing site. They have almost same IP. Both the .com and the .is versions of their website are legitimate and work fine. Some other legitimate payment processors worth mentioning that you can check out are Payoneer, Wise and 2Checkout.
